Sustainability
Allied is deeply committed to environmentally safe printing practices.
Concern for the environment informs every aspect of Allied’s business practices and our collaborations with clients, suppliers and employees. It begins with carefully evaluating our equipment choices and investment decisions. Our house sheet contains post-consumer waste, and we recycle 98% of our scrap paper. We use renewable soy-based inks, which create clearer colors and make recycling easier, compared to petroleum inks. Supporting reforesting projects and carbon offsets completes the Sourcing-Production-Replenishing cycle. Allied is an authorized partner of PrintReleaf – a global organization dedicated to measuring, offsetting, and verifying successful reforestation due to paper consumption.
Allied Printing has formally committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to set near-term, company-wide emissions reduction targets grounded in climate science. This means we are working toward aligning our climate strategy with the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. While our targets are not yet validated by SBTi, this commitment represents our intent to take credible, measurable action toward reducing our environmental impact.
Allied and PrintReleaf
PrintReleaf certifies the reforestation of each customer’s forest footprint according to the measurement and calculations defined in the PrintReleaf Standard. Each month, customers are issued certificates for trees planted at reforestation projects of their choice. At the same time, PrintReleaf will update each customer’s Lifetime Certificate and report on their growing reforestation impact across PrintReleafs network of global projects
