Estimator

Job Summary
In this critical role, you’ll produce accurate, timely cost estimates and job plans that span digital and offset printing, data processing, prepress, finishing, and direct mail. You’ll collaborate across departments to bring projects from concept to completion—all while delivering exceptional value to our clients.
Functions
– Develop precise and competitive cost estimates based on customer specifications and internal capabilities.
– Collaborate with sales, CSR, scheduling, and production teams to clarify project requirements.
– Source and evaluate outside vendor pricing for specialty items and outsourced services.
– Submit detailed estimates and quotes to internal stakeholders and clients as needed.
– Convert approved estimates into complete and actionable work orders.
– Enter customer orders into the Management Information System (MIS) and generate necessary purchase and change orders.
– Evaluate alternative production methods to determine the most efficient, cost-effective, and timely solutions.
– Analyze inventory availability and optimize usage to reduce excess material costs.
– Provide clear, detailed job plans that guide production teams and ensure quality execution.
Qualifications
– Strong communication skills—clear, concise, and professional across email, phone, and collaboration platforms like Teams.
– Exceptional analytical and math skills with a high attention to detail.
– Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
– In-depth knowledge of print and direct mail processes, including bindery and finishing operations.
– Familiarity with USPS postal regulations and mailing requirements.
– A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and strong organizational skills.
– Prior experience with estimating software and print MIS preferred.

Bindery Apprentice
Would you like to learn a new trade with advancement opportunities? Work hours are 6am to 2pm Mon through Fri, with some OT. This is a regular FT position with benefits. Interested? Read on!
What you’ll do:
Gain experience and competence in a supportive environment, while learning and operating bindery equipment to evolve into an operator role. The machines may include the following: cutters, saddle stitchers, shrink wrap, drill, round corner, folder/gluer (which is the primary machine for this apprenticeship), die-cutter, and digital finishing line.
What you’ll need:
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Adept at learning new skills with great attention to detail.
- Meet physical demands of running a machine, which includes walking, standing, bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, etc for long periods.
- Adaptable to changes in production needs.
- You’re a good egg who gets along with others.
At a minimum, you’ll have:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year machine experience (such as manufacturing) or any production position within the print industry.
